Susan Marie Meyer Dollison Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at a 12:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Susan Marie Meyer Dollison, 69, who died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Carpenter House in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. Rev. Brent Smith, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Susan was born in Crowley, the oldest of eight children and was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was a 1970 graduate of Rayne High School and lived between Rayne and Crowley her entire life, residing on her family homestead in Rayne since 1999. Susan was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne and a Legacy Member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. Susan previously worked at the Acadia Soil & Water Conservation District in Crowley, Louisiana State School in Iota, and was a Legal Secretary for Gregory Reggie in Crowley. She was employed by Acadia Parish School Board in Crowley as a Secretary, before obtaining a degree in Education and Certification in Special Education. Susan taught SPED and Resource throughout Acadia Parish, including North Crowley Elementary, Mire Elementary, Branch Elementary and Crowley High School before retiring in 2013. She returned to work as an Adult Educator for Goodwill of Acadiana from 2015-2021. Survivors include her husband, Steven James Dollison; son, Reid Aaron Latiolais; daughter, Katie Elizabeth Latiolais Primeaux (Dale) all of Rayne; two step daughters, Michelle "Shelli" Dollison Oulliber of Covington and Lori Dollison Walgamotte of Pearl River; brother, Ben Anthony Meyer, Jr. of Rayne; four sisters, Phyllis Meyer Hebert (Jean), Dora Meyer, Cynthia Meyer Vondenstein (Chuck) and Billie Meyer, all of Rayne; grandson, Triston Marx and spouse Kylie of Crowley; granddaughters, Cameron Latiolais, London Latiolais, Addison Latiolais and Landry Primeaux, all of Rayne; step grandson, Tyler Oulliber of Covington, step granddaughters, Emily Oulliber Freeman and spouse P.J. of French Settlement, Courtney Walgamotte of Slidell, Katherine Walgamotte of Baton Rouge; great granddaughter, Violet Marx of Crowley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Anthony Meyer, Sr.; mother, Virginia Rita Falcon Meyer; and two brothers, Daniel Joseph Meyer and Donald James Meyer. Pallbearers will be Triston Marx, Nick Dilly, Jean Hebert, Chuck Vondenstein, Tyler Oulliber, and P.J. Freeman. Honorary pallbearer will be Dale Primeaux. A Rosary will be prayed Friday at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 8:00 am to 11:30 am.
