Pierre Gary Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Pierre Gary, 88, who died Tuesday December 9, 2025, at his residence in Mire. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Deacon Denis LaCroix of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Service. Pierre, a devoted family man and lifelong resident of Rayne, passed away surrounded by his loved ones. He proudly served the City of Rayne for 30 years with the power company, beginning his career as a lineman and working his way up to superintendent of the department. Pierre had a true passion for raising animals of all kinds, having raised anything from cows, goats, chickens, doves, parakeets, emus, and pigeons, naming just a few. Each cared for with his characteristic patience. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting dove and woodcock, and found great joy in riding horses, whether at home or on long, peaceful trail rides. Of all his interests, Pierre’s greatest joy came from the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love for his family was evident in every moment he shared with them, and the memories he created will remain cherished forever. Survivors include loving wife of 68 years, Geraldine Revette Gary, daughter, Charise Gary, two sons, Glenn P. and wife Lori H. Gary, and Blake J. and wife Alane S. Gary, sister, Estelle Comeaux, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren. Pierre was preceded in death by parents, Maurice Gary, Myrt Richard Gary, brothers, Curless Gary, Wallace Gary, sisters, Rena Gary Richard, Mercy Gary Duhon, his granddaughter, Shannah Gary, and grandson, Chad Gary. A Rosary will be prayed Friday at 1:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA on Friday December 12, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
