Otis Joseph Romero III Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:00 am in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Otis Joseph Romero III, 57, who died Tuesday February 3, 2026, at his residence in Rayne. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Deacon Denis LaCroix of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral service. We remember and celebrate a wonderful man whose love showed up most through food and time together. He had a gift for bringing people close - whether around the kitchen table, the grill, or a campfire. His joy was in cooking for everyone, feeding both body and soul, and wherever he was, his presence filled the room with laughter, warmth, and love. He adored his bride, cherished his children and grandchildren, and found peace in the simple beauty of the outdoors - often surrounded by his animals or the familiar comfort of a country breeze. With KBON always playing in the background, he reminded us that love doesn’t have to be grand or complicated; it’s best shared through everyday moments - a meal, a song, and time spent together. His legacy lives on in the meals we share, the stories we tell, and the love we carry forward - together. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Connie Richard Romero, daughters, Heather Earline Romero, Angel Lynn Romero, sons, Barrit Joseph Romero, and Trey Joseph Romero and spouse Leanne Romero, his sister, Debbie Romero and spouse Quention Melancon, brothers, Kenneth Romero and spouse Carolyn "Pepe" Romero, Bradley Romero and spouse Tracy Romero, Conrad Romero and spouse Monyca Romero. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Madysen, Daegon, Kyler, Anden, Camella, Rose, and Kylie, also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father, James J. Romero, mother, Bertha Dupuis Romero, brother-in-law, T-Willie Richard, III, aunt, Elizabeth Romero Deaville. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Romero, Conrad Romero, Josh Pellissier, Dillion Richard, Branden Romero, Grant Pellissier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Trey Romero, Bradley Romero, Cody Robinson, Daegan, Kyler, Anden, and T. Brian A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA on Thursday February 5, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Friday February 6, 2026, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
