Mary Eda Doucet Daigle Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Mary Eda Doucet Daigle, 89, who died Friday, August 16, 2024 at The Ellington Nursing Home in Rayne. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Fr. Connor Poirrier, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Ms. Daigle was loved by many for her warm, welcoming smile and kind heart. She loved reminiscing and sharing her life experiences. She was proud of her Cajun French heritage and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. There was always a sprinkling of French thrown into the conversation. Many cups of coffee were shared with guests as they visited her home. Ms. Daigle and her husband owned and operated Eda’s Cash Grocery for many years where they made lifelong friends. After retiring from the grocery store, they realized they missed working with the public, so they then operated East Park Mart, a convenience store also located in Rayne, LA. She always enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and cards with her friends, playing pokeno with her pokeno group, and watching Wheel of Fortune each day. Those who were honored to receive her gifts of homemade candies or her sweet dough pies looked forward to it every year. The most important thing to her was her family, faith and friends. She will be missed by all, but her legacy will continue for generations to come. Survivors include her two daughters, Delores Daigle Lagneaux and spouse Larry Lagneaux, Kristine Daigle LeBlanc and spouse Danny LeBlanc, two sons, Mark Daigle and companion Lisa Moody, Tommy Daigle and spouse Tammy Daigle, twelve grandchildren, Brady Lagneaux and spouse Natalie Lagneaux, Blake Lagneaux, Jason Lagneaux and spouse Kelly Lagneaux, Reagan Daigle, Jake Daigle and partner Brittney Larriviere, Kye Daigle and partner Paige Dupuis, Lon Moody and spouse Ashley Moody, Luke Moody and spouse Kelli Moody, Lauren Moody McKey and spouse Todd McKey, Luke LeBlanc, Amy LeBlanc, Grant LeBlanc, twenty-one great grandchildren, Gracie, Samuel, Isaac, August, Evan, Abrahm, Grahm, Lily, Luna, Nora, Ava, Lon Paul, Sylvia, Liam, Olivia, Levi, Vivian, Jack, William, Kenleigh, Abigail, sister, Leona Doucet Lavergne, brother, Adam Doucet, Jr. and spouse Barbara Doucet, three sisters in law, Mary Ann Doucet, Sayble Meaux, Joyce and spouse Liney Guidry, brother in law, Donald Daigle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland J. Daigle, infant son, Patrick Vernon Daigle, father, Adam Doucet, Sr., mother, Lucia Sonnier Doucet, three sisters, Carrie Doucet Belleau and spouse Hubert Belleau, Evelina Doucet Owens and spouse James Owens, Theresa Doucet Benoit and spouse Eldon Benoit, two brothers, Harry Doucet, Sr. and spouse Mary Lee Doucet, Darrell Doucet, brother in law, Linus Lavergne, sister in law, Lucy Doucet, in laws, Mr. and Mrs. Levy Daigle, sisters in law, Maudre Matte and spouse Melvin Matte, Patsy Daigle, brothers in law, Theogene Meaux and Larry Daigle. Pallbearers will be Brady Lagneaux, Blake Lagneaux, Jason Lagneaux, Jake Daigle, Kye Daigle, Luke LeBlanc, Grant LeBlanc. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2024 in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.
