Lucy Dupont Alleman Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at a 1:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Lucy Dupont Alleman, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026 at 89 years old. She passed peacefully in her residence surrounded by family. Mrs. Alleman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. Very Rev. Brent L. Smith, VF Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Deacon Denis LaCroix and Deacon Dan Didier will be also help with the funeral services. Serving as giftbearers for the Mass are Crystal Eskine, Jessica Burgess, and Amy Alleman; and delivering the readings are Nathalie Doucet, Lanie Istre, Erin Royer and Hannah Johnson. Mrs. Alleman was ever present in the lives of her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren. She was a supportive and devoted wife of 67 years to her beloved late husband Charles Murphy Alleman. Mrs. Alleman was a member of her Rayne High School basketball team and the first in her family to graduate high school. She grew to be a skilled seamstress who also loved to bake, play horseshoes and cards, read, and travel the country. Her first priority was always the care and support of her family. Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Royer (Jerry Williams) of Rayne, and Gwen Schmidt (Carl Schmidt), of Scott, sons, Jason Alleman (Leslie Alleman) of Rayne, two daughters in law, Lisa Alleman, Brenda Alleman, sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Murphy Alleman, two sons, Eric Alleman and Keith Alleman, two grandchildren, Carolina Schmidt and Jacob Alleman, parents, Lucien and Nathalie Dupont, four brothers, Bucy Dupont, Lennis Dupont, Harold Dupont, and Earl Dupont, two sisters, Velma Villejoin and Anna Louise LaSalle. Serving as pallbearers are Ethan Alleman, Evan Alleman, Tatum Roy, Eric Alleman, Dexter Daigle, and Liam Royer. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Schmidt, Oliver Dahlin, Landon Fontenot, Elijah Royer, Leif Alleman, Jarrod Alleman, Christopher Royer, Mason Istre, Nash Johnson, Grayson Roy, Paul Hebert, and Jacques Hebert. A Rosary will be prayed Friday, January 16, 2026 at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday January 17, 2026 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
