Janice Elizabeth Reed LeBert Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Janice Elizabeth Reed LeBert, 91, who died Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, LA. Interment will be in the Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA. Fr. Mitchell Guidry, Pastor of St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, LA, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Janice was born on January 23, 1933, in Iota and raised in Basile, Louisiana. At the age of 17, she met the love of her life, Hilbert Joseph LeBert who she married 6 weeks later on August 20, 1950. Before his death on September 7, 1986, they enjoyed 37 wonderful and blessed years of their marriage together to which they grew their family to include 6 children for which she cherished dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grand and great grandmother and a sister of her 4 siblings and 5 stepsiblings. Her time was spent always with the family cooking, sewing, fishing and camping. She was a devoted Catholic and raised her children to love and respect everyone in their lives. She even taught her sons how to keep the house up so when their wives gave birth or had any physical challenges, they would know what to do. Her daughters-in-law were all so appreciative of her for thinking of them for the future with her sons. The best times of her life that would bring the brightest smile that her face would truly glow were when her children, grand and great grandchildren would visit. She was so happy when visitors would bring her a strawberry shake, hamburgers and fries, but definitely never forget her milkshake. Her fingernails always needed to be painted because it made her feel beautiful. She never felt the need for makeup because her nails being done made her feel most beautiful. Survivors include her children, Hilray James LeBert and spouse Son-OK Elizabeth LeBert, Victoria LeBert Doucet and spouse Calise "Mike" Doucet, Michael Paul LeBert and spouse Bernita LeBert, Andy LeBert and spouse Darlene LeBert, sister, Julia Delouach, daughter-in-law, Mary Allenday LeBert, 8 grandchildren, Nikki, Candance, Joey, Cody, Sarah, Justin, Jake, Curianne, granddaughter-in-law, Marcia LeBert, 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Hilbert Joseph LeBert, son, Phillip Ray LeBert, daughter, Janet LeBert Hollier, father, Andrew Reed, mother, Ezema Fruge Reed, sister, Mary Rasberry and spouse Garland Rasberry, sister, Ruby Prejean and spouse Paul Prejean, two grandchildren, Hwan James LeBert, Aaron Joseph Doucet, brother, Frank Reed and spouse Bassett Reed, brother, O.W. Reed and spouse Jean Reed. Pallbearers will be James LeBert, Michael LeBert, Andy LeBert, Hunter LeBert, Cody LeBert, Justin LeBert, Calise Doucet, Dustin Guillory. Honorary pallbearers will be Elliott LeBert and Nathaniel Doucet. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
