James Joseph Quebodeaux Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at an 11:00 am at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for James Joseph Quebodeaux, 79, who died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at his residence. At his side was his children and his loving wife of 37 years, Helen. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Fr. Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, LA will conduct the funeral services. James was a lifelong citizen of Rayne and a graduate of Rayne High. He proudly served in the United States Army Military Police. He was a sharpshooter and paratrooper. After serving his country, he began his career in the oilfield working his way up from roughneck to rig manager. James loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid traveler. He, his wife and kids took road trips every summer building precious memories. His children are filled with stories of many adventures had while traveling the country with their dad. He treasured his many friendships and playing with his many grandchildren. He was a beloved grandfather referred to as Pop Pop Chick and Pop. Survivors include his wife, Helen Quebodeaux, three daughters, Cherie Gautreaux and spouse Mike, Bridget Quebodeaux and spouse Dana Hammill, Mandy Blackmon and spouse Brian, two step daughters, Robin Prejean and spouse Jr., Renee Faucheaux and spouse Rene, and step son, John Turner, brother, Hilton Quebodeaux and spouse Natalie. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Boudreaux Quebodeaux, his parents, Roman Quebodeaux and Alpha Meche Quebodeaux, brother, Gene Quebodeaux, step son, Robert Turner, and grandchildren, Garret Turner and Gaven Turner. Pallbearers will be John Turner, Shane Gautreaux, Koi Gautreaux, Trea Gautreaux, Mike Gautreaux and Edgar Quebodeaux. A Rosary will be prayed Monday, March 7, 2022 at 6:30 pm in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
