Helen Trahan Spell Indian Bayou, LA - Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Helen Trahan Spell, 80, who died peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones in Indian Bayou, LA. Interment will be in the Indian Bayou Cemetery in Rayne, LA. Brother Glenn Foreman will conduct the funeral services. Helen was a long-time resident of Indian Bayou community. Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who considered her house their second home. She enjoyed helping take part in raising them. Helen enjoyed gardening & loved being outside. She was a perfectionist at all she did and loved spending time and going on walks with her sister and best friend, Mary Ann. She was also a retired nurse who treated all of her patients with dignity, compassion, and respect. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family. Her family would like to give a special thanks to her caregiver, Nora Peyton and Heart of Hospice team especially her nurse, Brittany Montgomery. Survivors include her husband, Albert "Butch" Lee Spell, three daughters, Rachell Spell Lantz and spouse Chester Lantz, Joetta Spell Foret and spouse Jeff Foret, Nicole Spell Credeur and companion Craig Touchet, six grandchildren, Ashley Hoffpauir and spouse Aaron "Leroy" Hoffpauir, Jodi Credeur and companion Derrick Broussard, Jami Lanclos and spouse Albert Lanclos, Jr., Emily Foret, Joshua Foret, Ellen Foret, nine great grandchildren, Carson Dupuis, Tucker Hoffpauir, Mason Hoffpauir, Gavin Franks, Henli Broussard, Ava Lanclos, Aaron Lanclos, Rayen Lanclos, Rowen Lanclos. She was preceded in death by father, Paul Trahan, mother, Angel Gaspard Trahan, brother, Carlin Trahan, sister, Mary Trahan Menou. Pallbearers will be Jeff Foret, Aaron Hoffpauir, Craig Touchet, Albert Junior Lanclos, Jodi Credeur and Joshua Foret. A Rosary will be prayed Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA.
