Dwayne John Reiners Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Dwayne John Reiners, 55, who died Sunday, May 5, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dwayne passed away peacefully at his parent's home, in the hour of Mercy, surrounded by his family in prayer. Interment will be in the St. Leo IV Cemetery in Roberts Cove, LA. Father Paul Broussard will be the Celebrant and Father Mitchell Guidry will be Con-Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Proclaiming the Scripture will be his niece, Madalyn Anne Reiners. Gift bearers will be his nephew, Jake Reiners and niece, Elizabeth L. Lavergne. Dwayne was a lifelong member of St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove where his dedication to his faith started early as an altar boy and developed into a steadfast devotion to the Blessed Mother which provided him with unwavering strength throughout his battle. Dwayne had an immense love of the outdoors, when he wasn't in the field tending to his crops, he was hunting or fishing with his best friend, William. Dwayne also loved the beach and thoroughly enjoyed the family's annual beach vacation. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Survivors include his father, John Herman Reiners, Jr., mother, Mary Ann Meyer Reiners, daughter, Madalyn Reiners, brothers, Kevin J. Reiners and spouse TeKoah, Keith J. Reiners, sisters, Cynthia R. Schexnider and spouse Fred, Susan R. Kibodeaux and spouse Bobby, Lisa R. LeLeux and spouse Joe, Donna R. Legnion and spouse Michael Sr., Karen R. Bodoin and spouse Brian, Kristie Reiners. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John H. Reiners, III, John C. Reiners, Sr., maternal grandparents, John K. Meyer and Anna Habetz Meyer, paternal grandparents, John H. Reiners, Sr. and Willie Mae Reed Reiners, niece, Heather Hanks, nephew, Lee Edmond Kibodeaux, great niece, Charlee Jane Leger. Pallbearers will be John C. Reiners, Jr., Michael G. Legnion, Jr., Phillip Reiners, Jake Reiners, Adam Reiners, Dillian Schexnider. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Bodoin, Fred Schexnider, Nelson J. LeLeux, Michael G. Legnion, Sr., Brandon Schexnider, Benjamin LeLeux, Matthew LeLeux, Peter Reiners and Bobby Kibodeaux. A Rosary will be prayed Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 7:00 PM in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr's Daniel K. Lavie, Julie T. Gomez, Konstantin A. Kovtun, the entire staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge, Dr. Santiner Saini, and Jessica Istre and Courtney Hebert of Lamm Family Care Hospice for the outstanding care and compassion given to Dwayne throughout his battle with cancer.
