Dorothy Boudreaux Istre Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Dorothy Boudreaux Istre, 91, who died Friday, January 10, 2025 at The Ellington Nursing Home in Rayne, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. Rev. Connor Poirrier, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Her son in law Deacon Barry LeBlanc with St. Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove will concelebrate. Readers for the funeral mass will be her granddaughters, Shelby Fuselier and Erin Breaux, and gift bearers will her granddaughters, Tara LaLande and Amber Fridrick. Our beloved Dorothy “Memaw” also affectionately known as “T-Dot”, will be remembered for her creative talents of cooking, baking, and painting. She loved to cook with her beloved husband, Alex. Her children and grandchildren enjoyed her sweet dough pies, millionaire candy, fruit balls, candied pecans, coconut cake, cinnamon rolls, blackberry jelly, figs, and “the cake”. Memaw took painting lessons for many years, and gifted her beautiful paintings to her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. As she traveled, she collected spoons and displayed them in her kitchen, along with dozens of tin cans. She loved her family and gave so much to them. During the holidays, she put up her Charlie Brown Christmas tree, and every family member had their own engraved ornament that they will cherish forever. Her grandchildren will always remember playing with her legos, watching Wheel of Fortune, her cookie jars, and eating swiss rolls out of the fridge. Memaw also loved to spoil her great grandchildren with M&Ms and gummy bears every time they came to visit her at the Ellington. Memaw prayed the rosary every day and inspired her family with her faithfulness. We will remember so many things about memaw, but what we will remember most is all of the love she gave us. Survivors include her four sons, Jeffery Paul Istre and spouse Wanda Istre, Kenneth Istre and spouse Andrea Istre, Ronnie Joseph Istre, Jerry Istre and spouse Laura Istre, one daughter, Josette Renee Istre LeBlanc and spouse Deacon Barry LeBlanc, eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Gloria Boudreaux Deroussel and spouse Larry Deroussel, Florine Boudreaux Hollier, one brother, Phillip Boudreaux, Jr.. She was preceded in death by husband, Alex Istre, parents, Phillip Boudreaux, Sr. and Isaure Simon Boudreaux, two sisters, Mary Boudreaux Foreman, Thelma Boudreaux Lanclos, four brothers, Allen Boudreaux, Chester Boudreaux, Gilford Boudreaux, Sr., Chester Emark Boudreraux, two great grandchildren, Julianna Elizabeth Fridrick, Aidan Jude Fridrick. Pallbearers will be Brandon Paul Istre, Corey Neil Istre, Christopher Michael Istre, Jacob Aaron Istre, Trevor Anthony Istre, Kyle Joseph LeBlanc, Brody Scott LeBlanc. A Rosary will be prayed by her daughter and four granddaughters Monday, January 13, 2025 at 7:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.
