Donald Arthur Faulk Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 10:00 am at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA, for Donald Arthur Faulk, 91, who passed away at the sweet age of 91 on August 30, 2026 at The Ellington Nursing Home in Rayne. Deacon Denis LaCroix of St. Joseph Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life and memories of a simple gentle man, beloved brother, godfather, uncle, friend, and source of laughter to all who knew him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and countless lives touched by his smile. After many years of being a devoted son, Donald was able to continue living life filled with adventures. He traveled the world, creating memories and experiencing all that life had to offer. When it came time for the next chapter, he put his worn passport to rest and made the decision to make The Ellington his new home. There he quickly became an active resident and enjoyed participating in the day-to-day activities and, most of all, bringing laughter and smiles to those around him. While there he was able to rekindle old friendships and create new ones. Though he never married and had no children of his own, he was abundantly blessed with a large and loving family. He was never without a home to visit, a party to attend, or plate at the table. He was a proud uncle to his 13 nieces and nephews. His generous heart extended far beyond his own family. For many years, Donald faithfully supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping children and families through his continued generosity. He believed in keeping both his body and mind engaged. He loved taking daily walks around town and also enjoyed challenging his brain with all kinds of word puzzles and spending countless hours reading. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. Among the many things he enjoyed were the special times spent with the St. Joseph Elderberries. He proudly served in the National Guard and was awarded the Sharpshooter Badge of Distinction in 1960. Donald leaves behind a legacy of generosity, laughter, kindness, adventure, and love. Although he may not have had children of his own, the many lives he touched are a testament to the family and friendships he created along the way. He will be deeply missed, remembered, and forever cherished by his nieces, nephews, godchildren, family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know him. The Faulk family from Wiltz Street is complete in Heaven. Donald joins his father, Ernie Faulk, mother, Berthilde Leblanc Faulk, brother, Daniel Faulk and sisters, Patsy Dean Faulk, and Diana Cary. Pallbearers will be Zachary Cary, Dale Meche, Jim Meche, Ike Richard, Darrel Faulk, David Faulk. Honorary pallbearers will be Garet Cary and Robert Meche. The family request visitation be observed at Gossen Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
