Diane "Aunt Di" Rochon Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 3:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA for Diane "Aunt Di" Rochon, 79, who returned to the Lord on Thursday, February 12, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of quiet love, sacrifice, and devotion to her family. She was soft-spoken and gentle soul whose kindness shaped generations. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Deacon Tim Ledet with St. Joseph Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Diane never married or had children of her own, yet she lovingly raised and cared for the children of her brothers and sisters as if they were her own. Each morning, she was faithfully present at Mamom’s home, preparing the children for school, walking the little ones safely or seeing them onto the bus while their parents worked. In the afternoons, she welcomed them back with warm meals, comfort, and care. She often took them on small outings for treats and laughter, creating simple joys and lasting memories. To her family, she was not only dependable, but a true blessing—patient, loving, and endlessly kind. Her cooking brought warmth to every family gathering, and she became especially known for her delicious stuffed roasts, lovingly prepared and shared with all. She possessed a bright and curious mind, enjoying word puzzle books and quiet reflection. Though gentle in voice, she had a beautiful sense of humor, and time spent with her always ended in laughter and warmth. Diane was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lawrence and Mary Rochon, and her dear siblings Lawrence Rochon, Jr., Shelton Rochon, Betty Rochon, Theodore Joseph Rochon, Theresa Rochon Dugas, Frederick Rochon, Jerome Rochon, Hilda Rochon Henderson, Audrey Rochon Broussard, and Claudette Rochon. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Lloyd Rochon (Eva Dell Rochon), Claude Rochon (Catherine Rochon), Victoria Rochon Orebo (Bruce Orebo), Jeanne Rochon Gibson (Derrick Gibson), Brigid Rochon Gibson (Carl Gibson), and Ingrid Rochon Lalonde (Alvin Lalonde), along with scores of nieces and nephews who were blessed by her love, care, and devotion. Though she has departed from this world, the love she gave so freely remains alive in the hearts of her family. Her gentle spirit, her laughter, and her quiet sacrifices will never be forgotten.
