Darby Joseph Thibodeaux Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Darby Joseph Thibodeaux, 88, who died Saturday May 9, 2026 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Very Rev. Brent Smith, VJ, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include three sons, Joseph "J.D." Thibodeaux and spouse Paulette Thibodeaux, Michael Lavergne, Chad Lavergne, three grandchildren, Shawn Guidry, Courtney Thibodeaux Henry and spouse Daniel Henry, Zackery Thibodeaux and companion Mary Oge, ten great grandchildren, Konnor, Kate, and Karlee Daigle, Kaide LeJeune, Gage Thibodeaux, Aleana, Avah, Daniel, Dawson and Dallas Henry. He was preceded in death by wife, Laura Bourgeois Thibodeaux, daughter, Patty Thibodeaux Guidry, son, Darby Joseph Thibodeaux, Jr., father, Leonard Thibodeaux, mother, Edna Champagne Thibodeaux, three sisters, Erise Thibodeaux Broussard, Alida Thibodeaux Comeaux, Lucille Thibodeaux Royer, two brothers, Louis "Red" Thibodeaux, Raymond Thibodeaux. A Rosary will be prayed Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Pallbearers will be Zackery Thibodeaux, Chris Comeaux, Kenneth Comeaux, Herman Theriot, Mark Clement and Daniel Henry. The Thibodeaux family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Danielle Duhon and her amazing staff and also the ICU sixth floor at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA for the exceptional care that was given to their father.
