Melvin "Peanut" Moreau, Jr. Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA for Melvin "Peanut" Moreau, Jr., 66, who died Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Masoleum in Rayne, LA. Father Aaron Melancon will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Readers for the Mass will be Peanut's nephews, Brannon Baumbouree and Dr. Derek Baumbouree. Survivors include his spouse, Linda Trosclair Moreau, two sisters, Geraldine Baumbouree and spouse, Ronnie, and Charlene Derouen, brother, John Moreau, mother-in-law, Lorena Trosclair, two brothers-in-law, Ned Trosclair and spouse Eva, and Nolton "Jr." Credeur, sister-in-law, Nettie Wagner, three godchildren, Trista Savoy, Blake Moreau, and Jeffery Derouen, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin "Bee" Moreau, Sr. and Eva Mae Hernandez Moreau, nephew, Chad Derouen, three sisters-in-law, Agnes Credeur, Peggy Trosclair, and Martha Moreau, brother-in-law, Charles Wagner, and father-in-law, Armand Trosclair. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Trahan, Randy Cormier, Ross Gaspard, Hillard "Jr." Gaspard, Travis Guidry and Ned Trosclair. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Alleman, Brent Alleman and John Moreau. A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 7:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 8:00 am until 9:30 am. The family is forever grateful to Peaunt's loving caretakers for many years, Lorena Trosclair and Nettie Wagner; Dr. D. T. Curtis and staff at Acadiana Family Practice; Dr. Juan Zeke and the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center; the Rayne Police Dept. for their many assistance calls; and, Dr. McManus and the ER staff at Ochsner Acadia General for their care and support in his final hours.
