Edward Neal Leger Rayne, LA - Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA, for Edward Neal Leger, 53, who passed away on June 14, 2021 in his hometown of Rayne, LA. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. Rev. Benjamin Pitre, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA will be the Celebrant of the Memorial Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Edward Neal Leger, 53, was born on July 12, 1967 in Rayne, Louisiana to Willie Louis and Jeanette Guidry Leger. In 1985, he graduated from Notre Dame High School in Crowley, Louisiana, and he studied political science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Edward was in the Army Reserve from 1985–1993 and was on active duty during Operation Desert Storm. He was a loving, caring man who enjoyed spending time with his family, learning about history, watching James Bond movies and classic TV, and cheering for his favorite sports teams, namely the LSU Tigers and the Boston Red Sox — there may not have been a bigger "Bosox" fan on Earth. He was a cherished father, son, brother, uncle, Godfather, and grandfather. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Willie Louis Leger, many of his uncles and aunts, his aunt and Godmother Ella Mae Guidry Foreman, his maternal grandparents Eloi and Anne Guidry, and his paternal grandparents Adonicien and Edith Leger. He leaves behind his mother, Jeanette Guidry Leger; his sisters, Debra Green and her husband Scott, Cheryl Neu and her husband Jay, and Helen Leger and her husband Mark Campbell; his former wife Anastasia Leger; his daughter Elizabeth Morgan and her husband Brandon; his granddaughter Clementine Morgan; his uncle and Godfather James "Jimmy" Leger; his Goddaughter and niece Christina Gautier; his Godson and nephew Jacob Neu; his other nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A Rosary will be prayed Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 am in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
