Charles "Charlie" Prevost

December 15, 1950 - July 15, 2021

Charles "Charlie" Lee Prevost Rayne, LA - Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at a Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire for Charles "Charlie" Lee Prevost, 70, who died Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Mire, LA. The Very Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington, Pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire will be the Celebrant of the Memorial Mass and will conduct the memorial services. Charlie was well known in the Oil and Gas Industry for 40 plus years. He owned Rayne Oilfield Contractors for 20 of those years and continued in the oilfield industry until his retirement in 2015. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, horses and all farm life. He was a master of cooking whether it be on the grill or by the stove. He loved teaching his secret recipes to his children and grandchildren. His true passion was his family. He loved his family with his whole heart. The true sparkle in his eyes was for his four grandchildren who all knew him as "Sir". As a special friend stated, "the world has lost a great treasure, but what a legacy he has left behind". Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Maxine Broussard Prevost of Rayne, daughter, Amy Prevost Dupre and spouse Ben Dupre of Mire, son, Joshua Prevost and spouse Mary Beth Prevost of Lake Charles, four grandchildren, Benjamin Dupre, Luke Dupre, Charlotte "Charley" Prevost, Joseph Prevost, sister, Paulette Prevost Leger and spouse Clyde Leger, Jr., godmother, Betty Thibodeaux and spouse Herman Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by father, Paul Prevost, Sr., mother, Vernice Carriere Prevost, brother, Paul "Butch" Prevost, Jr., aunt and uncle, Stella Prevost Hildreth and spouse Everett Hildreth, godfather, Jules Carriere. Pallbearers will be Clyde Leger, Jr., Scott Leger, Troy Thibodeaux, Josh Sills. Honorary pallbearers will be Rod Boulley, Don Cobena, Bill Guidry A Rosary will be prayed Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. The family sends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care West of Lafayette and also the nurses and doctors of Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center ICU Department.
