Wanda Navarre Fontenot Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Wanda Navarre Fontenot, 88, who died Monday, September 1, 2025 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Very Rev. Brent Smith, VF, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Wanda, known by all who loved her as Mom, enjoyed her family more than anything. Her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved being able to watch and attend all their sporting events and school activities, and celebrating all of their academic accomplishments. She loved reading, and watching all sports, but mostly LSU, New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Braves. Survivors include her two children, Dianne Fontenot Trahan and spouse Dale Trahan, Ricky Paul Fontenot, eight grandchildren, Kylie Trahan Bearb, Kristin Trahan Hazlett and spouse Michael Hazlett, Dustin Trahan and fiance Cherie Castille, Drew Trahan, Kayla Trahan Leverett and spouse Anthony Leverett, Brennan Fontenot, Jacie Fontenot, Lanie Fontenot, fifteen great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by husband of 45 years, Loney Paul Fontenot, parents, Jules Navarre and Catherine Boulet Navarre, sister, Eula Mae Manuel Guidry, sister in law, Lucille Fontenot Thomas, in laws, Julien and Agnes Fontenot. Pallbearers will be Dustin Trahan, Drew Trahan, Brennan Fontenot, Michael Hazelett, Jackson Trahan, Anthony Leverett. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 6:30 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
