Robert “Bob” Myers RAYNE - Funeral services will be held Monday, January 17, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Robert “Bob” Myers, 80, who passed peacefully away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at The Landmark Nursing Home of Rayne. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Deacon Denis LaCroix of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate the funeral services and burial. Bob was a 1960 graduate of Rayne High School and later a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Army. He was also a “Gold Star Brother” having lost two brothers during World War II. He was a very experienced diesel mechanic having worked state-side and overseas for many years. Bob was an experienced licensed pilot, a hobby he loved and shared with his family and friends through the years. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lorraine Myers of Rayne; two sisters-in-law, Elaine L. Myers of Rayne and Ann Myers of Wilton, California; his children, Ramona Lane of Arkansas, AJ and Robbie Trahan of Arkansas, Tiffany Cheek of Kaplan, Janice Stutes of Crowley and Lisa Soileaux of Rayne; nephew, Ronnie Myers of Rayne, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild; a godchild, David Myers of Branch; numerous nephews and nieces of his eight siblings; and a number of close family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Constance Dartez Myers; siblings, Jeanne Myers Boudreaux (Ernest), Oswald Myers (Bertha), Roland Myers, Roy Myers, Alton Myers (Louise), Lorena Myers Yelverton (Jack), Charles Myers and Lois Myers; a son, Jimmy “Bubba” Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family requests visitation be observed at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until time of the funeral services. Pallbearers will be John-Paul Myers, Tommy Stutes, Trent Stutes, Roland Boudreaux, Jude Boudreaux and Samuel Gagliano. Honorary pallbearers include Ronnie Myers, Thomas Stutes and Darrell Soileaux.
