Richard Dale Gaspard Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Richard Dale Gaspard, 61, who died Tuesday May 12, 2026, at Carpenter House Hospice in Lafayette LA Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Very Rev. Brent L. Smith, VF of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. On Tuesday, May 12, 2026 - one of the most genuine men to walk this earth took his final breath. Leaving behind a legacy of integrity, hard work, honesty, loyalty and friendship. A man with so much passion for everything he held dear - farming, family, friends, fishing, hunting and his beloved truck. He was the epitome of a “good ol’ country boy” - enjoying the simple things in life; a hard day’s work, a good meal, meaningful conversations while porch sitting and weekends with his buddies at the deer lease. His smile and laughter could change the dynamic of any room he walked into - a heart of pure gold. He was and is a great example of what we should all strive to be - true to his word, always kind, someone you could count on, whose love was REAL and if you were important to him, he made sure you FELT it. He leaves behind his friend of 42 years and wife/best friend of 10 years, who together shared a love so sweet, a true soul connection. His three beautiful daughters, whom he loved so very much and was incredibly proud of - watching them become women and mothers themselves, blessing him with 8 precious grandchildren. He adored his Momma and loved and respected his dad, whom he worked beside on the family farm for decades. To know Rich was to love him. He fought hard through every obstacle life placed before him and never stopped looking forward to the simple future he dreamed of - “hunting, fishing and loving every day.” Though our hearts are shattered, we find peace in knowing that today he is healthy, whole, at peace and undoubtedly somewhere outdoors with Jesus. Rest easy Hulio - you were deeply loved and will be deeply missed every single day. 💔 Survivors include wife, Stacy Arnaud Gaspard, his daughter, Dorian Gaspard (Jacob), Desiree Gaspard (Josh), Destiny Fontenot (Adam), son, Konnor LeBlanc and spouse Katherine LeBlanc, eleven grandchildren, he is also survived by his parents Lawrence, and Elaine Broussard Gaspard. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Wilson and Nola Gaspard, maternal grandparents, Upton and Marie Broussard. A Rosary will be prayed Friday at 11:00 am in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA on Thursday May 14, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm.
