Crowley, LA - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Peggy Lou Trahan Alleman, 69, who died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Encore Nursing Home in Crowley, LA. Interment will be in the Leger Cemetery in Rayne, LA. Rev. Antonia Zayas will conduct the funeral services. Peggy also known as Peggy Lou, who was known for her loud and happy personality. She was a very loving mother, but Katie and Bobbie insist that she loved her grandkids and great grandkids MUCH more. Her vibrant spirit and infection laugh will be missed by all who knew her. Peggy sure knew how to keep everyone on their toes, especially the nurses at Encore. She had a knack for giving everyone in her presence a run for their money, always keeping things lively. One thing she was known for was her ability to keep everyone laughing. Another thing her grandkids remember her for was her infamous gumbo let's just say you had to have a strong stomach and a love for roux to handle it. Despite her best efforts, her gumbo was more of a running joke than a culinary delight. We will definitely miss the daily runs to make sure she never ran out of vienna sausages, lays potato chips, and sprite. We will NOT miss her gumbo. Peggy was known and will always be remembered for her loving and fun personality. She never met a stranger. People still remember her for her years working in her snow cone stand, her years at Shop Rite and her many years at Chevron in Crowley. In the many years that she spent battling COPD, Cancer, and many other health issues, one thing is certain, her faith in the Catholic Religion stayed strong. Survivors include her two daughters, Katie Alleman Navarre and spouse Bill Navarre, Bobbie Jo Alleman and partner April Vines, seven grandchildren, Morgan Dempsey and spouse Ross Dempsey, Mason Ford and partner Corrine LaCombe, Madison Navarre and partner Clay Theard, Katelyn Ford and partner Coby Breland, Bryant Alleman, Carli Navarre and partner Jake Grotefend, Allisen Richard, five great grandchildren, Dominic Zenon, Beaux Dempsey, Kolt Dempsey, Roux Dempsey, Ollie-Mae Theard, one great grandchild coming soon, Landri Grotefend, mother, Joyce Sonnier Trahan, three sisters, Susan Trahan Dupuis and spouse Burton Dupuis, Karen Trahan, Nora Mire Dool and spouse Lee Dool, three brothers, Kenneth Trahan, John Douglas Trahan, Lawrence Mire and spouse Penny Mire, godchild, Shelley Dupuis. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Trahan, Jr., brother, Patrick Trahan, maternal grandparents, Issac and Edna Sonnier, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Adonadieu Trahan, mother in law, Annie Daigle Alleman, son in law, Charlie Domingue, two sisters in law, Marcia Trahan, Margie Trahan. Pallbearers will be Ross Dempsey, Jake Grotefend, Clay Theard, Mason Ford, Bryant Alleman, Dominic Zenon, Eric Hyfield, Burton Dupuis, Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers will be April Vines, Blaine Bourque, Kurt Dupuis A Rosary will be prayed Friday, January 24, 2025 at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA.
