OBREY “TO-BOY” BENOIT JR. Rayne, LA – Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Obrey “To-boy” Benoit, Jr., 82, who died Thursday June 11, 2026, at The Ellington in Rayne. Interment will be St Joseph Cemetery # 2 Rayne, LA Very Rev. Brent L. Smith, VF of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral service. To-Boy loved spending time in his garden and caring for his yard, finding peace and satisfaction in watching things grow. He also enjoyed watching horse racing and was always eager to follow the sport he loved. Above all else, he cherished his role as "Poppa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the joy of his life, and he took immense pride in each of them and their accomplishments. His love, encouragement, and devotion to his family will be remembered and treasured by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 ½ years Marie Gary Benoit, one son Keith Benoit and wife Michelle of Mire, one daughter Donna Arsement of Broussard, five grandchildren Krystina Leblanc and husband Toby, Kelli Bourque and husband Chris, Katie Latiolais and husband Brock, Gage Arsement, and Jayce Doguet and companion Abby Enlund. Eight great-grandchildren Bella Leblanc, Olivia Bourque, Corinne Leblanc, Hayes Bourque, Lucy Leblanc, Judd Bourque, John Thomas Latiolais, and Mae Katherine Latiolais. His beloved Godmother Lorena B. Trosclair. His brother-in-law Wilton Gary (Marcella), Sister- in- Law, Bertha Gary LaCombe. He is preceded in death by his parents Obrey Benoit Sr. and Bertha Guidry Benoit. Brother-in-Law, Joseph “Joe” LaCombe. Pallbearers will be Keith Benoit, Gage Arsement, Jayce Doguet, Wilton Gary, Chris Bourque, and Brock Latiolais. The Benoit family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mark Dawson, Dr. Syed Fazel, the nurses and staff of The Ellington of Rayne, and Hospice of Acadiana for the compassionate care and support provided to To-Boy throughout his journey. Special thanks are also extended to Betty Doucet, Bernadette Guidry, Kathy Richard, Cordelia Pizzalotto, and Simon Richard for their kindness, assistance, and unwavering support during To-Boy’s time of need. The family is deeply grateful to all relatives and friends for their prayers, generosity, and compassion. Your kindness and support will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
