Mary Etheridge Bouillion Gonzales, LA - Funeral services for Mary Bouillion, 72, will be held Saturday December 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Gossen Funeral Home. Mary was born 7/21/1952 in Atmore AL. She passed away December 13, 2024. She was the affectionately known as the “baby” of 8 siblings, she attended community college in Albany GA before enlisting in the US Navy. She was stationed at China Lake, CA and was a petty officer third class. She had her beloved daughter and moved to Lafayette LA shortly after. She called Lafayette home most of her life but was also an avid Alabama fan. She enjoyed taunting her brother-in-law and son in law with “Roll Tide” when LSU played Alabama. She could bake the best desserts! Mary retired from the Post Office after 34 years in 2009. She had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off her back to help in whatever way she could. She spent time being a “Mimi” to her “pride and joy” grandchildren. She lived with her daughter for many years and often vacationed with them. She entered residential assisted living in 2019 and enjoyed playing bingo, and dancing. She was the first one to head the dance floor and enjoyed colorful outfits. She bravely fought dementia for many years. Mary is survived by her daughter Sara (Brandon), and grandson Brennen, grand-daughter Samantha, nephew Allen Etheridge, niece Tammy Milner (Randy), nephew Darryl Phillips (Marie), niece Erin Bouillion, nephew Dennis Bouillion, nephew Robbie Dubios (Tori), Roddy Dubios (Gabbie). She also had many in-laws that were her family for many years and loved them all very much. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Bruce and Emmie Etheridge, her ex-husband (Pat Bouillion), and all her siblings. Special thanks to Francois Bend Assisted living, where she spent 5 of the best years of her life. The Claiborne Senior living, where she lived out the remaining month of her life.
