Margie Fontenot Breaux Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Margie Fontenot Breaux, 90, who died Saturday, August 8, 2026 at The Ellington in Rayne. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Fr. Bret Lee, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Margie worked for 67 years in the furniture and appliance business. She was a member and past President of the American Women Business Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Rayne Chamber of Commerce. She was twice elected to be Woman of the Year by the American Women Business Association and was recognized as the Employer of the Year by the Rayne Chamber of Commerce. Margie served on the Rayne Frog Festival Committee and in 1996 represented the festival as the Golden Age Frog Festival Queen. She also won several nominations for her cooking in the Rayne Festival Cookbook competition. In 2003, Margie was named Louisiana's Outstanding Older Worker by Experience Works Program along with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Chris John and Louisiana House of Representatives Resolution from Representative Gil Pinac. She loved playing cards, reading, cooking and working in her yard. Most of all, she loved going to her grandchildren's and now her great grandchildren's sporting events. She will be remembered for her fun, loving, generous and kind spirit. Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Bearb Credeur, Nita Bearb McCall and spouse Jimmy, grandchildren, Jai Credeur and spouse Joanie, Lauren Bruner and spouse Steven, great grandchildren, Johanna Guilbeaux and companion Tyler Stelly, MacKenzie Credeur and companion Richie Hickman, Kane Credeur, step grandchildren, Jimmy McCall, III and spouse Ashleigh, James McCall, great great grandchild, Charles Calloway, IV, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Breaux, father, Hypolite Fontenot, mother, Clevenia Benoit Fontenot, sisters, Emela "Mela" Boudreaux, Lillian Fontenot Borne, Mildred Fontenot, father of her children, Sabre Bearb, twin daughters, Crystal Dawn Breaux and Christy Shawn Breaux. Pallbearers will be Jai Credeur, Kane Credeur, Jimmy McCall, Steven Bruner, David Boudreaux, Chet LeBlanc. A Rosary will be prayed Monday, August 10, 2026 at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 7:30 am to 9:30 am.
