Louise Theunissen Leonards Landry Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Louise Theunissen Leonards Landry, 88, who died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at her residence in Rayne, LA. Interment will be in the St. Leo IV Cemetery in Rayne, LA. Rev. Blake Dubroc will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Louise will be remembered for a multitude of gifts and graces that she shared with the world. She was a great cook, an excellent seamstress, a minister to the sick, a choir member, quilt maker and the ultimate “gatherer” whose favorite thing was to gather friends and family into her home and cook and serve them. She also knew how to not take herself too seriously. Her essence is synonymous with “Service” and “Generosity”. She could never be “outdone” for her generous spirit. She raised a family of 7 children, and nurtured hundreds more during the years of her long life. She often expressed how grateful she was for her life and the many blessings she received, and she constantly gave generously to so many others. She was sometimes referred to as the Energizer Bunny because of her tireless efforts to do for others. It could wear you out just watching her, even as she aged, she did not slow down. She faced her health challenges in the last years with her usual grace and faith in her God. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they cherished her. When you were in her presence, you would often feel that you were her favorite. Survivors include two daughters, Ramona Leonards, Joan Leonards Mouton, three sons, Randy Leonards and spouse Annette, Adrian Leonards and spouse Geronna, Michael Leonards and spouse Phyllis, son in law, Randal Arceneaux, ten grandsons, Russell Leonards, Rufus Leonards, Richard Leonards, Ruston Leonards, Joshua Leonards, Levi Leonards, Joseph Leonards, Luke Leonards, Adam Arceneaux, Daniel Arceneaux, six granddaughters, Melissa Leonards Schmidt, Amanda Leonards Landry, Jessica Leonards Guillory, Annie Mouton Trahan, Kathryn Mouton Hormell, Rachel Leonards Occhipinti, 40 great grandchildren, and her dear sister, Hilda Theunissen Haure. She is also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, as well as her children’s friends whom she “adopted” along the way. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Raymond Leonards, Sr., son, Raymond Leonards, Jr., daughter, Rachel Leonards Arceneaux, 2nd husband, F.E. Landry, Jr., great grandchild, Chloe Arceneaux, daughter in law, Debbie Gardiner, son in law, John Mouton, father, Joseph Daniel Theunissen, mother, Anna Helena Meyer Theunissen, four sisters, Marie Theunissen Dupuis, Annie Theunissen Klein, Matilda Theunissen Johnson, Frances Theunissen Benoit, three brothers, Joseph Theunissen, William Theunissen, Hubert Theunissen. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. A Rosary will be prayed Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 7:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.
