Lorraine Maye LeBlanc Myers Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA, for Lorraine Maye LeBlanc Myers, 79, who passed peacefully away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at The Ellington Nursing Home in Rayne, LA. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Fr. Connor Poirrier, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne will conduct the funeral services. Lorraine Maye LeBlanc was born on September 30, 1944, to Ernie and Beatrice Hanks LeBlanc in Morse. She attended Crowley High School and went on to attain her high school diploma. She found her place in life when she began her employment as a cook at the Rayne Guest Home. Under the guidance of administrator Leroy Richard, she later attained an associate's degree in Food Service Supervision to operate the RGH kitchen, a passion she never considered a job. She loved "her residents" and loved to serve them "home cooking like they would have at home." The only thing she loved more than cooking at work were the many days and weekends she spent cooking for her family and friends, her passion in life for so many years. Her zest for life was contagious and lived life to the fullest while she could, making many new friends along the way while still appreciating her life-long friends and family members. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Smith Soileaux and husband Darrell of Rayne and Janice Smith Stutes and husband Thomas of Crowley; three grandchildren, Tommy Stutes and companion Pam Arceneaux of Rayne, Trent Stutes of Lake Charles, Leslee Soileaux Gagliano and husband Samuel of Rayne; her great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Kathryn, Samantha, Isabella, Trevor, Emily, Jude, Cecilia, Paul, Henry, Vincent, Dominic, and great great granddaughter, Gia; her only sister, Elaine LeBlanc Myers; her godchildren, David Myers of Branch and Dominic "Tiny" Menard of Rayne; the father of her children, Jimmy Smith, Sr.; numerous nephews and nieces and a number of close family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert "Bob" Myers; her only son, Jimmy "Bubba" Smith, Jr.; parents, Ernie and Beatrice Hanks LeBlanc; her only brother, Eddie LeBlanc; a special brother-in-law, Charles Myers; a nephew, Kenny Myers; and a number of nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends. Pallbearers will be Tommy Stutes, Trent Stutes, Samuel Gagliano, Jude Gagliano, Kenneth Smith and Madelyn Arceneaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Stutes and Darrell Soileaux. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 12:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
