Hilda Helena Theunissen Haure Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, at a 3:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Hilda Helena Theunissen Haure, 94, who died Friday, April 26, 2024, at The Ellington Nursing Home in Rayne. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. Fr. Connor Poirrier, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Readers for the Mass will be Jaime Comeaux and Aislinn Thibodeaux. Gift bearers will be Angie Fruge, Kindra Keiff and Tracy Comeaux. Mrs. Haure was Rayne Chamber of Commerce Executive Secretary for 23 years. She served as Frog Festival Grand Marshal and was chosen as a Woman of Distinction. She enjoyed meeting and helping people, volunteering her time, sewing and crafting. Upon her retirement, she and Mr. Haure enjoyed traveling and spending time together. Her dog companions were very dear to her. Her greatest joy in life was caring for and spending time with her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Vanessa Haure Comeaux and spouse Terry Comeaux, Terrie Haure Matte and spouse Victor Matte, two sons, Kim Haure and spouse Myrtis Haure, Pierre "Pete" Haure, II and spouse Theresa Haure, eight grandchildren, Jamie Comeaux and spouse Hunter Comeaux, Kindra Keiff and spouse Taylor Keiff, Tiffany Gossen and spouse Robert Gossen, Angie Fruge, Tracy Comeaux and spouse Dusty Comeaux, Jacob Guilbeau and spouse Amada Guilbeau, Taylor Serrano and spouse Alex Serrano, Steven Dimas, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James Curney Haure, parents, Joseph and Helena Myers Theunissen, brothers, Joseph Theunissen, Hubert Theunissen, William Theunissen, sisters, Annie Klein, Marie Dupuis, Frances "Poochie" Benoit, twin sister, Mathilda Johnson, and Louise Landry. Pallbearers will be Jacob Guilbeau, Royce Thibodeaux, Kainen Comeaux, Christian Comeaux, Ian Fruge and Ethan Guilbeau. Honorary pallbearers will be her godchildren, Trudy Hooper and Danny Theunissen. A Rosary will be prayed Monday, April 29, 2024, at 11:00 am in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503.
