Helen Joyce Alleman Rayne, LA - On Friday, March 27, Helen Joyce Monceaux Alleman, after 89 years on Earth, peacefully began her eternal life surrounded by her devoted husband of 72 years, Dalfred Alleman, and their five children Don Alleman with spouse Jan Alleman, Marty Alleman with spouse Karen Alleman, Melania Alleman Kirkland with spouse Jon Kirkland, Sonya Alleman Briggs with spouse Ricky Briggs, Sr., and Rachel Alleman Kratzer. She is survived by her sister, Velma "Pam" Monceaux Hoffpauir, twelve wonderful grandchildren, and twenty-three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandson, Ricky Briggs, Jr., granddaughter, Amanda Briggs, father, Deus Monceaux, mother, Margaret LeBlanc Monceaux, two sisters, Willie Mae Monceaux Dronet, Rita Monceaux, three brothers, J.D. Monceaux, George Monceaux, John "Tat" Monceaux, and in-laws, Edward and Emelia Alleman. Joyce, as she was known by all, attended St. Joseph High School, graduated class of 1954, cherished the many social gatherings with her classmates throughout the years, who were her closest friends. She worked for four years at Rayne’s department store, T. G.& Y. in the fabric/sewing department and was the seamstress for the store’s manikins to showcase their sewing patterns and assortment of fabrics. She decided to retire to be a full-time homemaker, raise her five children and support her husband on the family farm. Joyce was a devout Catholic being a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America Court Rayne #844. Joyce lived for her family, enjoyed traveling, attending social events and sports events of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She joined Dalfred on hunting trips and enjoyed relaxing at the beach with family and friends. She would end all conversations with family saying, “Love you lots, lots, lots!” Her last year was a struggle as her health declined yet she never wavered in her faith and kept her smile on her lips until the end. Joyce’s family is deeply appreciative of the care given to her by her outstanding caregivers, Debbie, Carla, Elaine, Viloa, Paula and the services of the Lamm Hospice team. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:00 am. A rosary will be led by the Catholic Daughters at 11:00am. A Mass of Christian burial celebrating the Eucharist will be held at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Very Rev. Brent L. Smith, VF, as celebrant. Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark, Lance and Jason Alleman, Christopher and James Kratzer and great grandsons Sawyer and Teddy Briggs. Two of Joyce’s favorite poems will be read by great granddaughter, Sydney LeBlanc and great grandson, Gage Hessler. Lectors will be granddaughters, Meghan Alleman Hessler and Alyson Kratzer Arceneaux. Giftbearers will be granddaughter Valerie Kratzer and great granddaughter Kate LeBlanc. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne Catholic Elementary or Notre Dame High School.
