A man of great integrity, devotion, and quiet strength, his life will be honored in funeral services held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA. He will be laid to rest at Indian Bayou Cemetery, a place as deeply rooted in love as the life he lived. Born and raised in Louisiana, Edward was the beloved son of the late William Claude Lee and Emma Althes Fore Lee. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Lee and Gil Lee, and his precious great-grandson, August Ray Lee. Edward, affectionately known to many as “Bud,” was a proud decorated Korean War veteran, having served his country with honor and bravery. After his military service, he devoted his talents as an electrical engineer for the Federal Aviation Agency, where his brilliance and precision helped power the future of American aviation. Not one to rest on his laurels, Edward also thrived as an entrepreneur and business owner, building a legacy of hard work and innovation. He was a man of many passions and timeless skills—a gifted woodcarver, gunsmith, and carpenter—who poured craftsmanship and care into everything he touched. Whether he was traveling the open road, capturing moments behind a camera, or simply enjoying quiet days in Rayne, his presence was always felt deeply and warmly. For 65 cherished years, Edward shared a loving marriage with his wife, Charlotte Breaux Lee, who stood faithfully by his side through every joy and challenge. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including two children: Vicki Aymond and husband Mark, and Edward Ray Lee, Jr. and wife Tammy. His legacy lives on in his four beloved grandchildren—Ryan Cody (Leigh Ann), Justin Lee (Mary), Miranda Walker (Nathan), and Megan Thigpen (Luke)—and in his six great-grandchildren, Kaden Walker, Zelie Cody, Isaac Lee, Mathis Walker, Lander Lee, and Gabriel Lee, who will carry forward his strength, wit, and enduring spirit. The funeral service will be lovingly conducted by his grandson, Rev. Justin Lee, who will honor the life of the man who helped shape his own.
