Dolores Phillips Board Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at Starlight Baptist Church in Rayne, LA, for Dolores "Mama D" Phillips Board, 90, who left this earthly world on Monday, January 22, 2024. Interment will be in the Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery in Rayne, LA. Pastor Nathan Stevens with Starlight Baptist Church in Rayne, LA will conduct the funeral services. Mama D was born to Nola Guidry and Roosevelt Phillips, Sr. Dolores was affectionately known as Mama D. Mama D was united in marriage to William "T'Reaux" Joseph Board, II and to their union they had William "W.J. Dub" Joseph Board, III, Jackie James Board, Russell Anthony Board, Hilda Yvonne Board, Sheila Gayle Board and Stoney Ray Board. Mama D was widowed at age 29 and kept the family together. She worked at Rayne-Branch Hospital until she was disabled. Mama D was wise, caring, compassionate and loving. Even until her last breath, she was telling the staff "Do your best". Mama D is survived by her son, William "W.J." Board, III and spouse Betty, and their children, William Board, IV and spouse Joselyn, Demetrius Tate and spouse Brandy, Laketa McKnight and spouse Paul, Cassondra Wells and spouse Jason, Marlon Holloway, Felice Tate, Stephanie Jackson (deceased); son, Jackie Board and spouse Eve, and their children, D'yon LeBlanc, Joshua, Jacqueline, Jonathan and Jerome Board; son, Russell Board and spouse Lisa, and their children, Rosalyn Board Jennings and spouse Jonathan, Chanda Board (Ronald), Telicia, Nikki, Keith and spouse Patrice, and Roscoe; daughter, Hilda Board Charles and spouse Romel Charles, and their children, Beverlyna Handy, Ashley Grenau and spouse Matthew, Raven Handy Cross and spouse Justin, Mariah Charles, Dana, Amy, Romy and Alyssa (deceased); daughter, Sheila Board Citizen, and her children, Jackie Francis and spouse Lea, Kevin Francis and spouse LeAnna, and Nola Citizen; sister, Lois Jane Phillips Harmon; sister-in-law, Barbara Wilson Board, close cousin, Mary Emily Mouton, thirty great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. Mama D was preceded in death by her son, Stoney Ray Board, her husband, William Joseph Board, II, mother, Nola Guidry Johnson, father, Roosevelt Phillips, Sr., five sisters, Susie Pleasant Mayfield Clemons, Hazel Granger Wilson, Alice Pleasant Andrus, Gertrude Phillips Cole, Nettie Phillips Foreman, four brothers, Leroy Phillips, Roosevelt Phillips, Jr., Benton Phillips, James B. Phillips, sisters-in-law, Hilda Mae Board, Thelma Board Goodwill, Edolia Johnson Phillips, Dorothy Pierce Phillips, brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Board, Sr., Jay Board, Lester Harmon, Sr., Melvin Cole, Sr., George Andrus, Peter Mayfield, Dorsey Wilson, Eddie Foreman, and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be William Board, IV, Jackie Francis, Sr., Jackie Francis, Jr., D'yon LeBlanc, Kevin Francis, Lee Martinez.
