Cecile Dischler Landry Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Cecile Dischler Landry, 95, who died Friday, October 8, 2021 at her residence in Rayne, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA. The Very Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington, Pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in MIre will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Cecile was born third oldest child of 12 siblings in Prairie Hayes, now called Mowata, LA. She moved to Rayne when she marries Daniel "Nappy" Landry of Rayne and was married 65 years before his passing in 2016. She was a devoted wife and mother. She worked with her husband and 2 sons, Dan and Ken in the family business of Landry's Feed Store for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. As a young mother, she was very involved in the Catholic education. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the America Court Rayne 844 for over 65 years serving as Regent of the Court. She was also a long-standing member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her love for family resulted in hosting many extended family gatherings in her home. Her wonderful cooking skills were enjoyed by all. Cecile was such a strength to her family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Claire Ledlow and spouse John of Vicksburg, MS, two sons, Daniel N. Landry, Jr. and spouse Alice of Rayne, Kenneth Oneil Landry of Rayne, two granddaughters, Sarah Lucille Landry of Wake Forest, NC, Emily Claire Landry of New York, NY, three sisters, Julia D. Thompson of Rayne, Marjorie D. Walker of Iota, Carol D. Leonards and spouse Lawrence of Crowley, brother, Michael Dischler and spouse Barbara of St. Landry, brother in law, Rev. Oneil A. Landry of Centerville, LA, two sisters in law, Wanda Dischler of Lafayette, Donna Dischler of Caulfield, MO. She was preceded in death by husband, Daniel "Nappy" Nicolas Landry, Sr., father, Charles Dischler, mother, Clara Olinger Dischler, five brothers, Ferdinand Dischler, Robert Dischler, Alvin Dischler and spouse Theresa, Thomas Dischler, Charles L. Dischler and spouse Carrie, two sisters, Barbara D. Reed and spouse Bill, Clarice D. Stewart and spouse Bill, two brothers in law, Sherill Thompson, Robert Walker, two nephews. Pallbearers will be Harry Walker, Mike Dischler, Brian Leonards, Kenneth Leonards, and Mark Walker. A Rosary will be prayed Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 6:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA on Sunday October 10, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Monday October 11, 2021 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.
