Audrey Marie Falcon Alleman Lafayette/Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 11:00 am at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, LA for Audrey Marie Falcon Alleman, 93, who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Maison De Lafayette Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Deacon Denis LaCroix with St. Joseph Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Affectionately known as Mom, Dear, Granny, “Ta-Taunte”, Aunt Audrey, Taunte Audrey. Audrey at 93 years old was the oldest of 7 children; having outlived her parents, husband, all her brothers and sisters as well as many beloved friends. To listen and watch she and her siblings converse amongst one another solely in French is truly a lost art and way of life. She was born in Branch, LA on February 19, 1931. Her parents were farmers and having being raised on a farm she shared many stories growing up of their time on the farm. She married her husband Caesar Alleman on October 2, 1949 and they raised 4 sons. They were married for 59 years until his passing on July 5 , 2009. She was a housewife and was employed at Lerner’s from 1970 until 1983 in the NorthGate Mall in Lafayette to put her boys thru Catholic school. Taking great pride in her appearance she was simple and classy; taking great pleasure when her beautiful long nails were freshly manicured and painted and when she had a fresh set and perm. She was very devout in her Catholic faith, having served in the Catholic Daughters, and the Ladies Alter Society, as well as her sewing club. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and St. Pius X Catholic Church prior to her illness. Audrey was an amazing cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends over a cup of coffee or some good food. Sundays were spent visiting family in Rayne. While her brothers were known for their sense of humor, she encompassed this trait as well. She could be quick-witted and at times her humor came when the receiver didn’t expect it, making it even more humorous. To know her was to love her. She was a skilled painter and seamstress, creating many beautiful arts and crafts for herself, friends, and family. She enjoyed coloring and word search puzzle books and she had a love for shopping, whether it be a flea market, garage sale, Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, or Salvation Army (which she often referred to as “Lil Abdallas”). She also found enjoyment watching Reba, Everyone Loves Raymond, and Antiques Roadshow on television. As a collector of various items, she enjoyed purchasing and displaying souvenir spoons from each state she visited. She also collected roosters and her collection was on display in her home for all to enjoy. She appreciated the beauty of plants and flowers and when her boys, friends, or family gifted her with such, she always expressed her appreciativeness. Decorating for holidays was a favorite of hers and she enjoyed celebrating each of them. Fall, Easter, and Christmas decorations were placed inside and outside, wreaths on the door, table runners set out, and any arts and crafts she created for that particular holiday were on display. She had a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often sharing new photos of them with her visitors and exhibiting their latest artwork in her room. She was a soft-spoken and classy lady who appreciated the beauty in life. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her four sons, Joseph Alleman, Karl Alleman and spouse Susie Alleman, Terrell Alleman, Gary Alleman, two grandchildren, Coty Alleman, Coral Lee Ann Alleman Miller and spouse Chris Miller, two great grandchildren, Rose Lee Ann Miller, Dean Miller, three sisters in law, Peggy Falcon, Barbara Falcon, Lucy Alleman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Caesar Louis Alleman, parents, Sosthene Falcon and Lelia Credeur Falcon, two sisters, Martha Falcon Richard, Lou Ella Falcon, four brothers, Alvin "Boo Boo" Falcon, Sr., Harold Falcon, James Falcon, Joseph Falcon. Pallbearers will be Toby Falcon, Chris Falcon, Joey Richard, Jason Alleman, Alvin Falcon, and Chris Miller. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 7:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
