Agnes Ruth Judice Saloom Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at a 12:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Agnes Ruth Judice Saloom, 96, who died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at St. Joseph Carpenter House in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA. Rev. Benjamin Pitre, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne, LA will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors for the funeral will be Phyllis Huval and Becky Miller. Giftbearers will be Kelli Saloom and Addie Malagarie. Ruth was a graduate of Judice High School. Upon graduation from Spencer Business College, she worked as a cataloguer at Dupre Library in Lafayette. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and sweet demeanor. Ruth was a devout Catholic and an avid reader. She was also a fantastic cook. Her children and grandchildren could always find "Sito" cooking their favorite: meatball stew, crawfish etouffee, gumbo as well as traditional Lebanese food and yummy desserts. She always said that she put "all of my love" in each dish. Ruth was a generous woman and a loving caregiver to her father in law, George Saloom for many years. Survivors include three children, Rebecca Miller and spouse Patrick, Charles Saloom and spouse Sally, Jacqueline Ruth Saloom, five grandchildren, Ali Chovanec and spouse Brian, Lesley Baker, Scott Miller and spouse Ashley, Kelli Saloom, Nick Saloom, and eight great grandchildren, Matthew Chovanec, Sophie Chovanec, Colin Chovanec, Lucy Ruth Chovanec, Wes Baker, Owen Miller, Evan Miller, Addie Malagarie, godchild, Phyllis Huval, brother-in-law, Clovis Claude Daigle. She was preceded in death by husband, Jameele Saloom, parents, Charles and Mary Hernandez Judice, five siblings, Verlie Daigle and spouse Jimmy, Goldie Daigle, Murphy Judice and spouse Peggy, Wilbur Judice and spouse Bea, Lona Perkins and spouse Clint. A Rosary will be prayed Friday, June 25, 2021 at 6:30 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. Pallbearers will be Patrick Miller, Scott Miller, Owen Miller, Brian Chovanec, Matthew Chovanec, Kevin Daigle, and Michael Saloom. Honorary pallbearer will be Nick Saloom. Ruth's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Thomas Curtis and all of the "Angels" who cared for her in the time of need.
